So, at 11months, 1 week and 2 days...

Emma was completely weaned! (She's 11 months, 1 week and 5 days old today, but this happened on Monday - just now getting to posting it on our blog). As some of you know, for several months I have been more than ready to be finished with breastfeeding. But I have to say that I was a little sad. I even could have been finished a week earlier, but wasn't quite ready to give up that early morning feeding. It's my time to snuggle with Emma after she gets up. I'm not sure if I was more sad about not getting to cuddle as much or the fact that she didn't even seem to miss it at all! She's growing up. It's a fact of life that I need to get used to. She's taking close to 10 steps at a time now and pushing her walker like she's neck to neck for the gold! She's still so little, it's hard to see her walk! Or maybe I should say funny! She doesn't look big enough to walk! Our little baby is turning into a little girl *sniff, sniff* *tear falling*.

Oh nicole! I always cry for several days when the kids wean. Mine usually wean between 11-12 months too-but I'm never ready for it. Always wish they would breast feed longer. I know what you mean about them growing up (sniff & tear here too!)

I must have been out of the room this morning when you said Emma was weaned. I caught the tail end of something about snuggle time. I didn't know you had stopped breastfeeding. You'll find other ways to have snuggle time...reading, rocking and singing before bed, early morning prayer in the bed and snuggling. I still snuggle with Joel! He loves backrubs before bed.

Emma really is the cutest little walker in the world. It was fun seeing her today and hard to believe she's almost one. How well I remember our conversations before you even got pregnant! This year has certainly sped by.

I understand too. Nathan weaned himself and due to Claire being sick and in the hospital, I dried up when she was only 3 months. As much of a pain as it is, it's something that nobody else can do with your baby. I hope this baby is able to nurse longer than Claire did. Three more months to go. YIKES!

How can it be? It just doesn't seem possible...hope we get to see her more in her second year.

That day is coming soon with Vera, but I think it's going to be so much harder than I had thought. At 3 months old I couldn't wait to be finished breastfeeding. Now, neither Vera nor I want to give it up.
