Sewing...

I was talking to a friend the other day as she was nursing her little one. I mentioned that she needed a nursing cover and that I had a friend who made them, but charged $18 for each one. After that conversation, I thought "I could make those." So I went and bought some materials and these were the results! I think they turned out great! This will be what all my friends (and family) get now as baby gifts (if they plan to nurse, that is)!

This may be a dumb question, especially coming from a nursing mother, but are these to be used instead of blankets to protect privacy? Does the strappy thing go around the mom's neck and the material drape over the baby? I've never heard of a nursing cover. They're really pretty, though! You're a natural Martha Stewart!

Yes, they replace a blanket. I always found it hard to keep the blanket in place, get the baby situated and then nurse without showing the world everything. So, for me...the strap would help and then I could look down and adjust as needed without worrying that the blanket was going to slip off! :-)

You know, I have been thinking about how someone could really make those themselves. Glad you were successful...they look like you bought them!
