I just now am able to blog about this... :-P Week before last, I was feeding Kate and Emma was way too quiet for my comfort, so I got up and found her with a red Sharpie in her hand. I wish that I could say I cought her before any real damage was done, but I didn't. She was quickly disciplined and then I went for the Magic Eraser...with NO luck! Note to all you flat paint lovers, it's hard to clean...even with a Magic Eraser. The next day I was in the bathroom fixing my hair and once again it was too quiet. This time I found Emma with a black Sharpie...you know the rest of the story. So, you say to put up the Sharpie's where she can't reach them...I thought I had... *eyes rolling*. Thank goodness the person we bought our house from left us with paint, or else we wouldn't have a clue what color to buy!!

Oh, Nicole... I feel your pain. And I'm taking mental notes... ("make SURE the sharpies are out of reach...") :) Marc says to make sure you use Kilz on it before you paint b/c you'll see through it if you don't...
oh, how awful--I'm so sorry...if it's any consolation at all, the sharpies are easier to paint over than it is to get the very Jackson Pollock chocolate milk and grape juice stains out of the beige carpet in Will's room... :p
Well, I know it is not a good thing, but what a memory! I remember when Nicole "accidently" wrote "A'S" all around our dining room...just a memory now, and it brings a smile to my face and heart. Emma will be a wonderful woman one day with a strong mind...strong willed children make very fine adults!
Love,
Mom
Unfortunately that won't be the last time! It's so disheartening and takes a lot of work to fix, but someday it WILL be a memory. There's something to be said about those top shelves in the kitchen! They DO come in handy sometimes. I'll be sure and hide everything for her next trip to see us. Ask her Daddy about the BB in the living room wall and the semigloss paint he stepped in then jumped out onto the carpet. Or her uncle's habit of cutting embroidery floss two inches long with my cute little embroidery scissors (he still does that if he can find any)! At least she was not hurt!!! Guess we can always find a blessing in there somewhere.
Love to you all,
Grammie

At least it was red and black. . . GO Raiders!
Hmmm...I hope Emma learned her lesson! I had a similar incident yesterday...only the sharpies really were on a high shelf...and the perpetrator was 6! (I couldn't believe that kid.) The black smiley faces are there to stay, since I can't paint our furniture...or the telephone.
