Van Gogh...

I made this "Van Gogh" cake for my friend Amanda. Her birthday was in May! We love Miss Amanda!

The edge is gummy bears. The pot are broken up Necco Wafers. The flower petals are Starbursts (melted, rolled out and cut into petals) and the centers are mini chocolate chips. The stems are icing. It was so much fun to watch it transform into exactly what the magazine looked like!

You just keep pulling domestic wonders out of your sleeve! This is seriously very impressive (and I watch Martha daily). My birthday is August 14th....just so you know ;)

Ms. Van Gogh,
I think that’s the most elaborately decadent birthday cake I’ve had in my entire life. Just seeing it again in the picture makes my mouth (re-)water. Thank you again for your masterpiece ... SWEET friend!
