Stawberries, strawberries and more strawberries...

We went to China Grove to pick strawberries yesterday with some friends. I started out with Emma in the Baby Bjorn, but I quickly realized that wasn't going to work. I was a little hesitant to use the stoller, because I didn't want to mess up the strawberry fields (o/~strawberry fields forever o/~ ...Beatles) . But there was a main "aisle" where the stroller didn't mess anything up and Emma and Mommy were much more comfortable!! We had such a great time and I want to go back next year so Emma can enjoy all the other things that are at the farm. They have hayrides and a petting zoo...next year! So...if you have any great strawberry recipes, send them my way. I have a gallon of strawberries that need to be used! :)

Homemade strawberry jam is amazing and not that hard to do if you do the freezer kind. My friend Anna and I used to make it all the time in high school. The freezer jam keeps well, tastes fresher and is much faster to do - all it takes is boiling the strawberries, sugar and pectin, pouring it into jars and sticking it in the freezer as opposed to sterilizing everything, etc.

Of course, my personal favorite is strawberry shortcake - the perfect summer dessert! :)
